At the ongoing Bharat Mobility Show 2024, Maruti Suzuki has showcased the production-ready prototype of the eVX SUV. This all-electric SUV from the Indian automaker is scheduled to be launched in the country by the end of this year.
Maruti Suzuki’s initial Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) made its debut at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo. However, the version exhibited at the Bharat Expo is the model intended for the Indian market. The company plans for significant localization and aims to export it to various countries, starting with Europe.
The eVX shares its platform with the Toyota Urban SUV Concept, based on Toyota’s 27PL skateboard architecture. With dimensions of 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,600mm in height, Maruti Suzuki confirms the eVX will feature a 60kWh battery pack, offering a range of whooping 550km in one charge. Its a mind blowing range for an EV at this point in time in Indian market
As for equipment and technology, a recent sighting of the Maruti Suzuki eVX test mule on Indian roads revealed key details. The model is expected to come equipped with features like all-LED lights, connected tail lamps, an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, a 360-degree surround camera, flush-fitted rear door handles, a dual-screen setup for the dashboard, and more.
