Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has made an impactful debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, unveiling the Skoda Enyaq iV EV in the country for the first time. The lineup boasts a mix of cutting-edge Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) models, including cars and SUVs from VW Group brands such as Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini.
The Enyaq iV is poised to be Skoda India’s inaugural venture into the electric vehicle segment. First showcased in its production form in September 2020, the all-electric Enyaq iV has been spotted undergoing testing on Indian roads. Skoda is set to announce the prices for the electric crossover in March this year, marking a significant entry into the Indian EV space. The Enyaq iV 80x variant is anticipated to lead the charge, equipped with a 77kWh battery and dual motors (one on each axle, simulating All-Wheel Drive), generating an impressive 265hp. The battery pack supports 125kW DC fast charging, providing a commendable range of 513km (WLTP) on a single charge.
Built on the VW Group’s MEB platform designed for electric vehicles, which also underlies models like the Volkswagen ID 4 and Audi Q4 e-tron, the Skoda Enyaq iV measures 4,648mm in length and 1,877mm in width. Although only slightly smaller than the Skoda Kodiaq, it maintains a strict two-row SUV configuration. Keep an eye out for Skoda’s pioneering strides in the electric vehicle landscape in India.
